If you can't come, show your support for arts education in Sacramento County schools by donating to Any Given Child - Sacramento
Any Given Child - Sacramento is a program of the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts, and Sacramento was it's first site. Friends of the Arts Commission has been partnering with local school districts in Sacramento County since 2009 to provide students with equitable access to the arts through residencies, assemblies, field trips and workshops. The program has also offered over 80 hours of professional development opportunities in the arts for classroom teachers, teaching artists and other arts educators. Not only does Any Given Child provide students with experiences in the arts, but it also gives teachers and teaching artists the tools to use the arts to support learning in other academic subjects through an approach to teaching called Arts Integration.
Friends of the Arts Commission is the non-profit arm of Sacramento’s local arts agency, committed to supporting the arts through arts education and outreach programs, fund development, fiscal sponsorship for emerging arts organizations, and arts advocacy. We receive grants, workplace giving, bequests, gifts, and other donations. We hope you will support our efforts to advance and enliven the creative sector in Sacramento.
Muriel P. Johnson Fund for the Arts
Thirty-five years ago Muriel Johnson was instrumental in starting the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission. The Muriel P. Johnson Fund for the Arts was established in 2011 to honor her for her contributions, vision and commitment to the arts. Muriel taught us that the arts can inspire us, engage us in learning and enlighten us. Help us teach our community, young and old, the same thing. Please join Friends of the Arts Commission in honoring Muriel by making a contribution today.
All funds raised this year will be used to support our education programs for lifelong learning in the arts, from programs for Sacramento’s K-12 students in school settings to youths, families, special needs students and older adults in other community and social service settings.
